Sourdough 101

A lot of people hear Sourdough - and instantly pop it in the 2 hard basket! But I am here to tell you DON’T! Sourdough is such a fun cooking experience you can do with your family - all while sneaking some extra goodness in to nourish our gut health. During the fermentation process, sourdough becomes full of beneficial bacteria that assist our digestion. It is also a great option for those who are gluten sensitive, as the fermentation actually feeds off the gluten!

So where do you start? What do you need?

My must haves are: a big glass bowl, a bowl cover (looks like a shower cap), a bread scrapper, a sharp blade to score and good quality bakers flour.

Other tools you might find handy - a Dutch oven for baking your sourdough in, a bread scorer (fancy knife to score your bread) and a proving basket.

And guess what friends - that is it!

Below you will find the link to my sourdough 101 ebook - let me start by saying - I am not a professional baker, I am not a whiz bang cook, I am just a mum experimenting with my kiddos. Some days it is amazing and others it is a flop! But in here you will find my tried and tested favourite recipes - and guys its NOT ONLY BREAD! There is waffles, pancakes, muffins, pizza dough and MORE!
