  • This can be a challenge to ward off, but this cream has worked wonders for so many in our community, so we had to share with everyone!

1/2 cup Shea Butter, 1/4 cup coconut oil, 1 Tbs of Beeswax.

Melt down these 3 ingredients via double boiler method. Let cool and then add in additional ingredients :

1/4 cup either jojoba or sweet almond oil + 10 drops of each EO (but you’ll need to dilute based on age of person it’s being used on):

Yarrow Pom, Turmeric, Lavender, Roman Chamomile, Cedar wood and Copaiba.

Once cooled, whip with a blender to soft and store in a airtight conatiner.

  • Glass Jar

Four heaped TBS each of of coconut oil + shea butter + 1-2 TBS of beeswax

Pop you glass jar in a shallow pot of water and bring it to the boil slowley. As you add the coconut oil, beeswax and shea butter you will see it start to melt.

Once all melted, take out of pan and allow to cool (you will see it just start to solidify that’s when you know its not boiling hot anymore!).

Top your glass jar with a carrier oil; my choice was macadamia because it’s beautifully gentle and nourishing.

Add in your Essential Oils - I used Salubelle (10 drops), Lavender + Black Spruce (5 drops each). Other great options include, Geranium, Rose, Copaiba, Frankincense and most of the florals

Mix in and allow to set!

How simple, cost effective and most importantly- non invasive, non toxic + beautifully nourishing for my growing tummy!

  • This is one of the easiest swaps in all the lands for a non toxic and safe product that works! To make a DIY hand sanitiser thats safe and effective you will need:

A 30-50ml spray bottle (I use glass or the up cycled doTERRA hand sanitising mist container) + 5 drops each of Lemon & On Guard Essential Oils + A good dash of Fractionated Coconut Oil or Organic Vegetable Glycerine. Topped with cooled boiled water. Shake before use and spray.

After Sun Spray

Chest Rub

Coffee Machine Descale

Bug Repellant

  • Every home needs one, it doesn’t matter if you’re like me and have a little girl who’s teething or you’re in the midst of a feeling like crap - it’s a home staple “the congestion rub”.

Crazy thing is, we are all used to grabbing the one in plastic, filled with synthetics from the chemist and thinking it works - yet the reality is we are just burdening our bodies further by adding some toxic ingredients into the mix for them to process vs ingredients that are clean and will work at a cellular level!

    It’s the simplest and easy swap making your own congestion rub, today I did;

2 heaped tbs of organic coconut oil.

1 small tbs of Beeswax pellets (you can choose not to use these if that’s your jam).

10 drops each of Easy Air (clear those airways), Frankincense (working at that root cause repair in your cells) & Lime (breaking down that mucus).

I warmed up the coconut oil and pellets, then let them cool before I added in my essential oils. I poured them into a recycled glass container (always use glass for this type of DIY) and let it set.

Two ingredients + my essential oils, five minutes to make, waste free and effective. How wonderfully empowering to support your home and family with SUCH simple solutions

    NOTE:

There are many amazing respiratory oils we have access too and above is a super basic recipe, other options we have access too are Eucalyptus, Cardamon, Black Pepper, Turmeric, Rosemary, Copiaba, Black Spruce and Siberian Fir (if you use Siberian Fir I always use less drops as it is a strong oil).

If you are making this for a smaller babe, you can half the drops but if you are EVER unsure about dilution reach out to the community and we will help you!

  • Making an after sun spray is so easy you will kick yourself that you ever bought one;

oils that are great to use include Frankincense (a must), Lavender, Peppermint, Geranium, Roman Chamomile and Yarrow Pom.

Pick your oils and in a glass spray bottle add a good dash of a carrier oil (I like apricot kernel , but you can use any) purified water and a dash of vodka/witch-hazel (acts as a preservative) in a glass spray bottle.

I make these up smaller and use - then remake. So in a 100ML spray bottle I would use 3 drops of each oil - and make sure you SHAKE before use to emulsify the oils!

    PS two little tips:

-You can add in organic Aloe Vera if you would like & on a hot day this is heaven kept in the fridge then used (hubby uses this after a long day of trade work too)!

  • I don’t know if it’s just me, but I just cant fathom heading out into nature to breathe in all that fresh air and then polluting it with commercial toxic (and I mean toxic AS) repellents.

    Another really simple, safe and effective DIY is making your own repellent and best of all, you have options to make it— so hear they are;

    1) Pick your base, cooled boiled water or a carrier oil like fractionated coconut oil if you’d prefer a oil.

    2) Pick either your glass pump (oil) or spray bottle (cooled boiled water).

    3) Pick your Essential oils, my go to is a blend of doTERRA’s Terra Armour, Lavender, Peppermint, Lemongrass and Arborvitae. Some other great options include Geranium and Cedar wood (and now the POWER HOUSE Citronella and Lemon Eucalyptus). You can absolutely make it with just Terra Armour (which is a blend made specifically for a repellent) but I’m really in love with adding the other oils because they small amazing and bugs hate them .

    4) Next up add your essential oils to your glass, I do ten drops of each in my 100ML glass spray bottle and top with my water.

    5) If your using water, add a preservative like a tablespoon of witch hazel or organic vegetable glycerine and a dash of fractionated coconut oil to help disperse the oils on your skin. If your using oil, your good to go, just add your carrier oil and pop your pump back on.

    6) Always shake before use and spray or apply all over yourself as required.

That’s it, done deal - cheap and easy to do. No toxins, no polluting the air and mosquitos HATE essential oils so it’s effective!

If your going out into nature, do your best to look after it and yourself with these simple non tox swaps! text goes here

  • For any easy way to clean your coffee maker, try this descale out! Ingredients : 3 cups filtered water to one tsp citric acid Add in 5 drops of Lemon EO

Run this through your machine once with descale and then once again with just water. If your machine is larger, just double the recipe or adjust as needed!

Wardrobe Refresh

Glass Cleaner

Make Up Brush Cleaner

Sanitising Wipes

  • Ingredients

    20-30 drops Lemon

1/3 fill with vinegar then top with cooled boiled water.

Pinch of corn flour [for that extra shine]

    Shake before use.

    Instructions

    In a spray bottle, combine.

Wipe with a microfiber cloth or paper towel.

  • This works so so so so well at freshening up your wardrobe or linen cupboard & it’s so dam simple.

    Take a little calico bag and add;

three heaped TBS of @thesourcebulkfoods organic bicarb.

10 drops of essential oil (I used purify).

Pull draw string shut, and then hang on a coat hanger and closed my cupboard like usual. Whole thing smells amazing & fresh! You can just re-open it up and add a few more drops of oil when the smell fades & off you go again.

Once your done with the bicarb, throw it in your sink and give your sink a good scrub! No wasting precious bi carb in this home!

  • Ingredients

2.35lt Sistema tub + Viva double length paper towel (cut in half) + 2 cups cooled boiled water

2 TBS On Guard Cleaner Concentrate + 10 drops On Guard + 10 drops Lemongrass.

    Instructions

Put water, soap base + essential oils in to the container and mix. Place your paper towel roll that's cut in half into the mixture and pull out the middle paper insert. Seal and then let the liquid soak through before use. [you can also use the On Guard Hand Soap Concentrate to make these antibacterial hand wipes VS just for surfaces]

The normal Viva brand paper towel also works, skip cutting it in half - just push the lid down on it to squish it into the container and the recipe works perfectly.

  • Wash your make up brushes in a bowl of water with a tiny dash of Castile Soap or On Guard Cleaner Concentrate + a drop of Tea Tree or Grapefruit EO to cleanse and kill any nasties. This is a really good habit to get into weekly to help keep those nasties at bay (that live in our brushes #gross) and promote clear skin! Remember to dry your brushes with the bristles pointing down to the water can drain out!

Leather Cleaner

Baby Wipes

Master Diffuser Blend

Body Wash - 2 ways

  • This is a great money saving swap that is so easy to do! All you need is:

2 cups of cool boiled water

    2.35 L Sistema Container

Viva double length bamboo paper towels cut in half

1 Tbs of unscented Castille Soap

    2Tbs of Carrier Oil

3-6 drops each of Tea Tree + Lavender EO

Combine all the ingredients in the container and stir. Push in the paper towel roll and allow the mixture to absorb. Remove the cardboard insert and seal. Airtight.

  • Use 10 drop Eucalyptus or 8 each of Wild Orange + Lemon + 1/4 cup Olive Oil and 1/2 cup Vinegar

Combine in a spray bottle and shake before use - great idea to do a test patch but this works REALLY well!

  • So with all the toxins that are out there in personal products, it’s so nice to have a couple options to DIY with your oils and avoid having to buy pre-made products.

    Option one : Pump Bottle

I cup of un scented Castille Soap

    1/2 cup of vegetable glycerin

    1/4 cup Fractionated coconut oil

You can add the essential oils of your choosing, but I love 10 drops cypress, 10 Cedar wood, 10 Douglas Fir.

    Top with cooled boiled water.

Option Two : Foaming Pump Bottle

If you want to have a nice foam to your body wash, then here is a recipe that works great for that option!

    1/4 cup Unscented Castille Soap

Dash of Carrier oil such as FCO

Top off with cool boiled water and then add your essential oils! Dilute depending on size of bottle and whether or not you’re making for adults or children. Roman Chamomile + Lavender works great for babes. If you’re unsure of proper dilutions - contact your oil mentor! But as a general rule of thumb for a 375ml pump I add in:

Babies: 5-10 drops in total (of very simple and basic oils like Roman Chamomile, Cedarwood, Lavender, Copaiba style oils)

    Toddlers/Kids: 20 drops in total

Adults:30 +(its a big pump so you can add whatever strength you like the fragrance at).

  • If your oil mad like my household you’ll know the struggle is real with oils everywhere each time your filling diffusers going back and forth!

Enter, your empty Doterra 15ml bottles with a dropper top added and then inside it your favorite most used blends blends. Then this babe (not the three oils) sits where it needs to be and you refill every week or two when they are empty - WAY less mucking around with bottles and drops errrryyyyyy day - just simple home made blends ready to go.

This guy lives in my bathroom for our bathroom but you can do the same for your sleep blends, morning diffuser blends or even internal oils you take daily! Super easy and great way to recycle your empties!
